Gina Southgate Exhibition at Cigalon

Gina Southgate is a live painter, best known on the UK's international jazz scene where she produces spectacular, qualitative, real time paintings. For over three decades she's painted at gigs and festivals capturing the vitality and nuance in her unique portraits of world class musicians.

It is from this area of her work that she has curated the exhibition in the main room at Cigalon. She shows a  selection of recent large scale canvases of groups and  soloists all painted live in a variety of jazz residency settings.

For the intimacy of the private dining room she chose to show two vibrant large abstract paintings. Both began life in live performance situations and were later developed to their conclusion in the studio.

Southgate's  original paintings and limited edition prints hang in public and private collections worldwide.
